Our Energy Assessment Service

A BPI Certified Technician is knowledgeable in conducting an energy assessment for homeowners. Testing the air tightness of a home using a special machine called a Blower Door, will ensure a true measurement of the air leaking in the home (CFM's; cubic feet per minute) along with locating the areas that need special attention.

A Blower Door is a powerful fan that mounts into the frame of an exterior door.  The fan pulls air out of the house, lowering the air pressure inside. The higher outside air pressure then flows in through all unsealed cracks and openings.

Energy Assessments are usually free of charge to the property owner and/or tenants by a quality installer/contractor working with Utility Company Programs. Call or email us to see if you qualify!

Our BPI Technicians use unique software that aids in analyzing energy savings estimations. We use this software in correlation to our process and DOE's Energy Efficiency Goals, allowing us to conclude (in a timely manner) what our plan of action will be.

These analyses take the whole-house approach, which maximizes energy and dollar savings. Because of this rigorous approach and analyses backing it up, weatherization has become a leader in advancing home energy science and in helping spawn a new industry providing home energy efficiency services to the wider public.
